In september 19 81, a small group of women from wales set up a protest camp at greenham common air base in southern england. It was in response tothe u k. Government's announcement that a hundred and 60 american crews missiles would be located at the base. These were so called tactical nuclear weapons much smaller than those previously dropped on japan at the end of world war too. But it signified a dangerous new chapter in the arms race between the us. And the west.
