The Unreliableness of Research
When researchers at the Federal Reserve in Treasury tried to reproduce results of 67 papers from 13 prestigious journals, they found that in half the cases, even after contacting the authors for more information, the results were not replicable making their conclusions as reliable as a coin toss. And what's more astonishing is how much time is devoted to these endeavors that you can easily characterize in one word as being futile. So there was a moment in time when I finally escaped the research department and got to a different area of the bank. But again, that is the kind of entity that it is.
