The Differences Between Afghanistan and Sudan
The Foreign Office is deeply anxious about the being a potential repeat. Kabul had a safe airbase and thousands of British troops ready to help with evacuation, that isn't the case in Sudan. The only position that the British government can urge people to take is to stay indoors because it is too dangerous to go outside. But many Brits are very inventive and creative and know the situation on the ground.
