The Signs of Congestive Heart Failure in a Young Infant
Congestive heart failure isn't a single condition, it's a constellation of physical findings that describe a physiologic state. There's too much blood going to the lungs and then all that blood needs to get, you know, stuffed through the left side of the heart that's already volume overloaded. And then you get this traffic jam of blood in the lungs, and again that traffic jam backs up to the right side of the hearts as well. What's going on there is that your body has to produce a super cardiac output because it's not just one cardiomyopathy or myocarditis causing diminished heart function.
