The Importance of Physiologic Priorities in Emergency Medicine
The concept of recess re-sequenced is the simple idea that you need to recognize the presence of shock or a cold shock early, and then focus your management on physiologic priorities. This is really nothing new for emergency physicians but it's harder than it sounds. The whole reason we have ABCDE,. it's a heuristic that allows us to be systematic in the face of multiple injuries. But having done that assessment, then you need to put your thinking cap on a little bit and think, well, what's the most immediate priority here?
