CHAPTER

Do You Know Your Heart Rate?

Most of these numbers, most of them are genetic. You can train how what percentage you actually are in like the field test. Most of it is just kind of comes down to genetic variables. I saw an athlete who podiumed or finished top five at one of the biggest 100 miles in the world this past year whose LTHR when they sent in their information was 150. It really doesn't matter. We've coached really like top champions who can't get their heart rate above 180 and they're young. And they're both amazing athletes, but via different mechanisms. That's why it's important to know your body.
