Film Review - Elvis Cliches
Bessie smith is a, we haven't seen many bilepicks about black woman to begin with. And so already that puts it at a advantage, i think, of being different from other biopicks. The fact that she's perhaps as well known as elvis helps. So you get to learn more about this woman who a lot of people have forgotten about or may not remember. Can i tell you one that i really love, even though it does follow the kind of behind the music, a narrative arc that you're sceptical of? I actually haven't seen it, but i'm very familiar with it. It was an experimental film made back in 19 88
