By the end of the second season everyone knew they didn't want to make another season of the TV show instead they were going to move into film. The group went off with Vafelson and Schneider for a short holiday and took with them their mutual friend Jack Nicholson who was at this time not the major film star he laid to became rather he was a bit part actor in low budget American international pictures. Despite having been a working actor for a decade his acting career was going nowhere but by this point he had basically given up on the idea of being an actor and had decided to start working behind the camera.
