Shlensky provides a fantastic look back and forward, exactly as you said. He was insisting that whole trick of this new thing had to be old and new at the same time. If it's only looking backwards and it's only traditional, then it's simply, i irrelevant. Cause you can't leave the past. And here he insists that, and this is very important, he insists on the importance of the present.
