The Quality of Evidence on Cloth Masks in a Pandemic

When I looked at the literature, the studies, right? And as Matt says, it's not our area of expertise. But when I saw that literature, my immediate reaction was, okay, people can take different positions on this exactly what you were talking about. Most studies with masks prior to the pandemic were conducted in hospitals, in controlled conditions. They weren't looking at people wearing cloth masks in community settings or in the context of a pandemic. So the quality of evidence wasn't very good. It is also the case that you cannot expect the majority of people to have spent time researching study design and that kind of thing. Like people don't have the time to do that.
