The internet has been a really powerful tool in breaking apart involuntary associations. Everything on the internet can be a voluntary association, which I think is also very double edged. Taking away that kind of necessity will have lots of interesting consequences around how well we're able to connect with people who we don't really understand at first. Those people are probably our best bet for finding belonging and human connection if only we can get into the same living room with them and just sit there and talk.
