I would love to ask about George's views and his followers views on this kind of stuff. Were they actually any better than kind of their contemporaries or were they kind of the same as everybody else? I think that is one of the more interesting conclusions that comes out of this book. Obviously the movement is not free of racism and there are segments of it that particularly in California that remain highly racist. So I don't ever claim that they're anti-racist, but like the abolitionist who also had many problems concerning race."
