Is It the Blind Spot of the Replicators?

The film's premise is that replicants are created, and then there's some kind of crisis where they stop doing what they're a programme to do. Is the implication that something made by people could not have a desire outside of what we would want them to do? And that's where the blind spot is. I mean, it seems to me that the thesis of the film is, miracles are possible, right? Yes, ye. Gratously thes miracle. But this acrae, the film begins with the one nex replicant saying to the guy that's involved in the revolution: "You don't believe"
