Carbon Monoxide in the Fuselage

As far as i know it was all passengers. They did not recover any of the crew's bodies. So since pathological study indicated the possibility of corbo monoxide in cabin prior to impact, the most likely sources must be considered. Carbon oxide is generated in most any type of fire or by the thermal decomposition of many substances. A large fire within the fuselage is not compatible with the condition of the recovered wreckage. If there was a fire on board, it probably wasn't big. Such a fire should not have created the need for an immediate ditching unless the smoke accompanying it was excessive and irritating. It could easily start a fire, knock out some equipment, make emergency smoke evacuation
