How Much Should Designers Know About Code?

On a scale of one to seven, how much should designers know about code? Three. There's all this wanking on Twitter about how designers need to they need to code so that they can be sympathetic to the needs of the programmer. But sympathy, not empathy, but sympathy and support is what we need. And you don't need to know how to code to do that.
