CHAPTER

The Letter to Lorraine

Everything about the letter was wrong. It sounded nothing like the Greg she had once counted on. He wasn't proposing another meeting or any renewal of contact. Primly like some maiden lady afraid of pursuit he hadn't even put his address at the top of the page. She felt safe from the past in this present so enticing all around her. Shoving the letter back into her pocket she went upstairs to hang up her coat. Then catastrophically but only for one long devastating moment before she was all right againshe was ambushed by the sensation of something lost. Lost forever and never to be restored because it was too late and life was time if only Greg had wanted her she thought.
