The Importance of Demonstrating the H Bomb
I'm not sure I agree 100% with Oppenheimer and the stuff, but I get his his rationing and like his rationale. The his argument is we have to demonstrate the bomb. We actually have to use it so the world can see its destructive power and fear itso that it never gets used again. Do you think was Oppenheimer just naive that once this once this thing was created, it was an inevitable arms race? There's no way around it. Or do you think there was an off ramp option after World War II to handle these weapons differently in a way that would not have led to an inevitable armsrace? I think he was naive.
