Introduction

Hans Orico has written a book about maps. He says there's no such thing as a good map for the simple geometric reason that the earth is spherical, but paper is flat. The main one being that at some point you're going to undergo infinite distortion. So basically the map the cartographer's quandary is the same as the draftsman's quandaries. It's the problem of perspective.
