The Franchise Model of McDonald's

Most McDonald's out there are franchise which basically means independent people buy out their stores and own and manage them in a certain region. In the Scranton area where I did the union they were all owned by one single family who was ultra rich in part because of the McDonald's. They weren't the CEOs of course but like as far as managing for each restaurant and area McDonald's went they were the main ones in charge.
