What's the Right Answer to a Task?
There is a great experiment that was done back in the 50s which is surprisingly simple and I don't know if we have enough time to talk about that but it's okay so it's very surprisingly simple. Basically you had participants come in with one participant at a time in a room and seeks what we call Confederates who are essentially individuals who know what the experiment is about. They start saying the wrong answer on purpose and then the question is does the participant conform to the rest of the group even though they know what's wrong? It's crucial not just for change but for any sort of group decision that you have to make or to try to find a consensus, he says.
