How Do You Engage With the Classic Security Dilemma?
Aussies are taking steps to increase their security but it can trigger a counter reaction. What makes you so confident that this will actually contribute to deterring China or contribute into a strategic equilibrium rather than prompting an escalation? Well, again, really good question. We could not have been more transparent in terms of what we're doing and why we're taking the steps towards what they're doing. And there has been a huge diplomatic effort really since we came to power to explain why we're moving down the path by ever acquiring submarine capability.
