The Importance of Being a Pastor
As a pastor every day of my life, I was touching and putting a name and a face on every social pathology that existed in our culture. You cannot name any major issue that touches human beings that I didn't look at face to face every single week. Every time I listen to politicians talk about what they were going to solve the problems, I got the distinct impression that they didn't have a clue what the real problems were. And it really was exasperating because it was almost as if that there was this level of curiosity about what I'd done 20 years ago...I'm just saying that it was frustrating to me that that part of the experience that I had had was ignored.
