The Concept of Christian Nightclubs in the 1960s and 70s

Many gay and lesbian people in the late 60s and early 70s saw evangelical Christianity as antithetical, or even downright hostile to the interests of gay people. In new-found neighborhoods across the United States, a whole new sort of culture was being formed by and for gays themselves. The biggest symbol of that blossoming and burgeoning community and culture were nightlife spaces.
