Pause, Skip, or Hike? w/ Dr. Komal Sri-Kumar

The Fed's Personalized Rule Is a Good Rule
The intention of introducing skip is to sort of say that they're being vigilant about inflation, but presumably if they're pausing, they don't know what's happening. So why even do that? The reason is that they do not have a long term plan. They have openly come out and said that decision is going to be based on the latest data points. It adds to the uncertainty for the market. If we had a rule in place, we would both know exactly what the Fed is going to do. No uncertainty. The market goal can go on with long term expectations, rather than fluctuate on a day to day basis. We can save some salaries in the process.
