The Bondage to Sin and Evil

The idea of a bondage to sin and evil is a prominent biblical motif. I think that from a Christian perspective, looking back through the eyes of the atonement wrought by Christ, these sacrifices were really ineffectual. They didn't really bring about sanctification of the worshippers. But this was the provisional arrangement that God had made with His people until such time as Christ would come.
