Isn't It a Critique of Liberalism?
i think the suggestion that somehow taking out debt is a sign of moral weakness is, sorry to ay, thit's ludicrous. You can make the argument that the united states recklessly encouraged taking on way too much debt when it came to a housing crisis. We have been encouraging a student debt. And we've been encouraging universities to jack up their prices through a misbegotten student loan programmes. These are all failures of policy, or mistakes of policy, that can be tweaked and shaped in better ways. But how that's a critique of liberalism itself, i really don't understand.
