Sally Kohn: Even if you assume that the woke, race conscious policy will work, there are costs to it. She says a world in which black and white people are incarcerated at exactly the same rates would be nice. But under current conditions, she writes, "it's going to mean either you throw lots of white people in jail who didn't do anything wrong," or let out some dangerous criminals from jail. The trade-off is not necessarily better than a world in where there are some disparities, but there's a much lower death rate.
