Is Reason the Slave to the Passions?

Since the sort of ancient greeks, there's been a rise of rationality. But i think it's unfair to give such a massive weight to it that it's more important emotion. I mean, i think going back to hume's that that reason is the slave to the passions. We know, we kind of use our emotions. We just feel something. We don't think something, but we feel that something is right to do. And then we use this tool in order to achieve these things which are essentially originating from passion or emotion.
