Chernobyl - What's the Technical Difference?
In the 1960s, light water reactors couldn't possibly hurt anyone even in the case of a meltdown. Even so, there was only one radioisotype that could have hurt anybody at Chernobyl. iodine 131 sits in that Goldilocks zone where it's not very radioactive but can bioaccumulate and re-concentrate into thyroid cancer.
