How to Develop Reading Fluency in the Classroom
The way that we read on screens and the way that our reading behaviours have been impacted by digital devices is actually somewhat in the negative. We find ourselves skimming and speed reading and flicking, scrolling through pieces rather than actually reading them start to finish. The skill of actually sitting there with a novel with a long article and reading it properly and completely is somewhat being lost over time as we've changed our reading behaviours. What are some things that teachers can do with students for them to practise their fluency in the classroom? There's three main ones that I want to take you through.
