In Amistad, a slave ship chronicle from an African-American point of view like Alex Pate did. He tells the novel as much as he can through the mind and consciousness of Cinque, the black African. Whereas in the movie, the figures of prominence are Matthew McConaughey and John Quincy Adams. Even Spielberg's friend David Gefen said it's a white savior movie.
