CHAPTER

Does Income Inequality Become Regional Inequalities?

I wish you've got as an amplification of inequality. Does income inequality becoming regional inequality and then one making the other worse? That's right. And again, in the U.S., you always have to consider the role of structural racism. Detroit is one of the most racially segregated metropolitan areas in the United States. Surrounded by mostly hostile white suburbs,. who actually for a while were still growing while the city was losing population. It seems weird to me, the idea that you let cities die. But it makes sound economic sense if you come from that school of thought - but it doesn't happen in Europe, for example.
