What Is Dan Janson's Hypothesis?

In the 19 sixties, dan janson was one of the early instructors for tropical studies. He noticed that people from costarica who had been born and grew up at a relatively high elevation sit had basically been exposed their entire lives to a relatively homogeneous set of temperatures. So in the tropics, those that much more homogeneous thermal variation should translate into narrower thermal tolerances. And so his hypothesis sets up a couple of predictions about how that environmental heterogineity translates into physiological patterns and dispersals.
