I do think we're a ways from this happening as well as AI becoming sentient or anything like that. I just think this is a harder problem than anybody thinks it is. There's some guy who's sort of devising very clever prompts to try to get chatbots to actually play chess coherently and so on. But I don't think it'll ever work except as them sort of playing a very intuitive game, perhaps where they have no mechanism for doing search. And even humans are doing search. We're saying if I go there and he goes there and then I going there and he went there and so on,. Like that's just not part of the architecture of a language model.
