For the past year and a half, this has been perhaps the weirdest economy in us. The leisure and hospitality industry is particularly difficult to get a handle on. From february through july, the industry added two point one million jobs. And yet, even with this relatively high level of unemployment in the industry, restaurant owners are loudly complaining about a so called labor shortage.
