Do You Want to Be Afraid of Death?

Socrates said that if we want people not to be afraid of death, then we must expunge all such things. He was quoting from Homer a homer, the canonical poet at this time in greek literature. Socrates says he is depicting how men really react in those circumstances. This is fit subject for art, but it's not fitting with the ideal political programme which socrates and plato lay out here.
