Should I Read Guns, Germs and Steel?
The book has all sorts of problems. Diamond's historic examples are presented with only as much contect as will help him make his point. As i mentioned earlier, the history of india is not a great fit for this theory. Finally, diamond leaves little room in guns, germs and steel for historical forces like politics, economics, religion and ideology. Oi think that this book is an interesting, but flawed attempt at answering a worthy question. The argument that still remains the most compelling for me has to do with those domesticated animals.
