Tiwan is an island in the east china sea, slightly larger than belgium. Its existence is of critical importance to both China and the united states. It would take more than four decades for democracy to arrive in tiwan. And then it wasn't until the 19 nineties that people got to choose a directly elected president. James lynde's parents are from tiwan. He says, people there just want to be left alone.
