Stonehenge Trilithons - The Iconic Balance Stones

Atrilithon is part of the monument that has two upright vertical stones supporting a horizontal lintel laying across the top. Another galithic site which provides us with excellent examples of trilithons is the temple called nidra on the mediterranean island of malta. We definitely believe that malta was occupied at least as long ago as around six thousand b c e, with the first stone temples being constructed from around five thousand b ce.
