The sport does start in the cricket clubs, etc., amongst the British. But very quickly it disseminates, especially through immigration. By the late 19th century in 1899, you have essentially a Creole football club in Nassau. And there's a Lipton cup that is established for matches between your Guine and Argentina. It's, I think, the longest-running Derby ever.
