The Role of Beauty in Christian Theology
Adrian Nichols has arguably done the most to translate and helpfully condense these German writers that are just all on and on, but they haven't learned to be a consician. Father Adrian Nichols does it for us because he condenses the immense mammoth 15-volume trilogy for English readers. As he notes at the beginning of his own recent book, Balthasar for Thomas in 2019, Thomas has not always welcomed the entry of Balthasarians into a place of sun in Catholic theology. In this talk, I'm going to suggest another resource for Thomas and Catholics and Christians in thinking about the role of beauty in Christian theology - Dante's Beatrice.
