The Future of Physics
There is some evidence that metallohydrides under high pressure could form room temperature superconductors. If every physics lab could have it, we would probably see a lot of advancements in this field. I like the analogy that diamond anvils are a bit like telescopes, but for pressure rather than interspace. There might be weight field effects that could accelerate particles to very high energies on something you could actually fit onto your desk.
