The Dangerous Blackout Challenge on Ticktock
Last month the parents of two deceased american girls decided to sue social network tiktok. Lilane erica rene wharton and ariane jilin aroyol, aged eight and nine, respectively, died in late 20 21 while attempting the so called black out challenge. In just three minutes, it can lead to irreversible brain damage. And within five minutes,it can cause death. Tiktock released a statement earlier this year highlighting that the challenge itself pre dated the platform by a long time. It also took the step of blocking users from seeing results for the blackout challenge, instead showing a warning screen.
