The Socratic Circle Method: A Concept of Consent and Opposition
The term was first coined by August Compton, 1851. He argued for the needs to integrate more of the scientific method into the decision-making processes of government in order to better meet the needs of the people. So that community that I was involved in, and myself personally in the kind of communities I was connected to at that time, were very much kind of rooted in this move towards more egalitarian ways of organizing together or living together.
