The Differences Between Anarchist and Marxist Positions on the State
Anarchists see the state as a body which incorporates all lawmaking and law enforcing institutions in a given area. This is run by a small minority of people who have a monopoly on the use of violence to enforce those laws. So, for us, these are the only inherent features of the state. All other kind of positive things like healthcare provision are optional.
