The Oxford English Dictionary - It's Not My Watch
There's a need to distinguish linguistically between the singular and the plural. And here we are going backwards with the they. Now we should come up with some other word. I don't know what the word is, but they I think is a mistake. The Oxford English Dictionary has already made the change.
