The Debt Ceiling Crisis

The current US debt limit is $31.4 trillion, according to CNN's John Defterios. The U.S. has a law called the debt ceiling which sets a limit on how much it can borrow. No other country in the world really does this and so we periodically get these crises where commitments to spending are contradicted by limits on borrowing.
