The East India Company's New Monopoly on the Tea Trade
E i c already has a monopoly in the indian ocean, but the tea act gives it a monopoly on the tea trade in the americas too. It does so by allowing the east india company to pick its own consignees or agents. This new law will endanger the livelihood of some American merchants. And finally, we've seen everything come full circle as parliament decides to assert its claimed power to tax the colonies in the post seven years war era.
