The Origins of Intersex People

The term gender identity was first coined in 1963 by two people, Stoller and Greensun. It's once again suggested that gender identity is determined by sex. Gender was often being used on its own rather than saying gender identity or gender role. People start using the term gender, especially feminist social scientists in the 1970s who massively popularized the idea that sex and gender are separate. So yeah, amazing stuff, right? That's where those terms came from. By the 1960s, John Money was more heavily suggesting the idea that gender is indeed a social construct,. something that's malleable, something so malleable.
