Meditators Do Not Stop Getting Stressed

Meditators do not stop getting stressed. No, they stop staying stressed. This was shown at the university of texas in austin way back in the seventies. Doctor orme johnson did a study on people practising transcendental meditation. They were put into a room where a harmless but stressful stimulus was presented. You didn't expect a sudden loud noise. And so if you have to adapt to that, maybe you adapt to it effectively, or maybe you maladapt. If you maladapt, you come away with a stress. If you adapt effectively, then you might have a heightened react, but you come away from this having recovered. Homeostasis means your full repertoire
